Goodnight Eve, you took Adam’s full blame,

Eden remembers and knows you by name.

Goodnight midwives, you brave and wise sleuths;

Goodnight, LOVE’s lottery with Naomi and Ruth.

Goodnight Sarah, your faith lit up stars;

Goodnight Hagar, LOVE knows who you are.

Goodnight Deborah, you saw through the lie;

Goodnight Rahab, you leader of spies.

Goodnight Tamar, unconventional soul;

Goodnight Huldah, your prophecies told.

Goodnight Vashti, you overlooked queen;

Goodnight Esther, you dared to be seen.

Goodnight Bathsheba, noble and strong;

Goodnight Abigal, holding peace as a song.

Goodnight Judith, wielder of swords;

Goodnight Jehosh’eba, changing nation’s folklore.

Goodnight Mary, trusting impossible joy;

Goodnight Elizabeth, and your jumping bean boy.

Goodnight Anna, you recognized LOVE;

Goodnight nameless woman, with hope in your blood.

Goodnight Magdalene, our first pulpit cry;

Goodnight Well Woman, drinking living LOVE dry.

Goodnight Canaanite, your faith healed your girl;

Goodnight Lydia, leader of a new world.

Goodnight faithful women, relentless and true,

you paved the path for us in all that we do.

Goodnight patriarchy, afraid and mistaken,

we rise to our calls on roads you’ve forsaken.
