No Small Moments

(I wrote this song over a year ago and created the music/melody while I was driving home from Thanksgiving with my family in Calgary. The melody is a tear magnet)

Even the tide is still,

there are tears on my windowsill.

The sun refuses to shine,

the moon sleeps in my eyes.

Tomorrow feels far away,

promising me that some day.

The tide in me will move again,

maybe we will become friends.

So why do I have to cry?

Why do dreams have to die?

Where can I go and hide

away from this pain inside?

My head has a peace of mind.

My heart is too lost to find.

No matter how hard we tried,

you are you and I am I.

I open the blinds to see,

if you’re walking back to me.

You’re loved by my family,

but you never show.

I compare everyone to you.

The you you were, you, I knew.

I read stories of love renewed,

wishing we would be brave.
