No Small Moments
“Okanagan Strong”

The Okanagan is like people,
currents on top and flowing below.
Sometimes there is one,
most times there are four.
Okanagan life teaches we are more.
We're more together when we share.
Fruit baskets everywhere,
zucchinis longer than my arm.
Stained fingernails, and tangled ponytails.
A church open fridge.
Pickers on the edge.
A Thrift Store like fish and two loaves.
Okanagan, where our souls grow.
You can find rocks that grow crystals.
Hope visits and pans for some gold.
There is a heart where
Woodsdale and Lodge Roads converge
where love lives, where people walk what they talk,
where geese and puppy’s bark.
Okanagan, your current runs deep inside.
The Spirit in you is a precious vine.
We cling tight, we believe,
we dig deep and retrieve
all the fruits of you.
Okanagan, green and blue
We love you, we love you.
We cannot change the wind.
We will not pretend.
Things are changing faster than we can breathe.
We are rooted here,
where love smothers fear.
We wear our hearts on our sleeves
and we believe.
Okanagan strong,
where everyone belongs.
Doesn't matter where you've come from or what your story is.
Okanagan strong,
where everyone belongs.
Our table's open, have a seat and stay a bit.
Okanagan, where humanity sits.
There are no small moments.
