Happy Easter to you all!
I hope this note finds you all well this day. As I write this, I am thinking about the week that has been. This is my first Easter with you all so everything still feels new...but we did a new thing this past week with Holy Week Reflections on Zoom every morning at 10 am. Thank you to Jim and Fran for assisting with the leadership. And it was good to see new faces join us every morning as we worked away through the Passion story and had some thought-provoking discussions.
Now Easter Sunday has arrived....and Joy comes with the dawn. We had originally planned to hold an early morning service outside and greet the sunrise together. But because of restrictions on gathering, we will have to be creative. So I am planning to venture out early Sunday morning and catch the sunrise. Maybe you will do this too. Although we won't be together we can still have the same experience. If you wish to take photos of your view of the sunrise, please forward them to Verena at winfieldunitedchurch@shaw.ca and we can make a collage of the photos we receive for the Friday newsletter.
I hope wherever Easter finds you this day, you are well. We have good news to share. We are here, we are together in spirit, and proclaim our Easter faith in a love that is stronger than death. Christ has risen! He has risen indeed. Alleluia!
